THE BEKAL GOKULAM GOUSHALA

A HUMBLE HAVEN FOR COWS

Where Music, Nature & Spirituality unite for the betterment of humankind.

Lord Krishna entered this human world as a descendant of the Gokula clan. ‘Go’ or ‘Gou’ means cow, ‘kula’ means clans & ‘pala’ means protector. We hear many devotees praising Lord Krishna as Gopala or Gokulapala, which means he who protects and nurtures the cows or the clan of cattle farmers. Krishna manifested his love for art and nature throughout his lifeline.

Krishna said, “Humans need cows more than cows need humans. Cows need to be protected for humans to survive.”

VEDAM – GOU MAHATHVAM

Indian scriptures describe that being a human is the best of all living beings. Scriptures also mention that the purpose of human life is the achievement of 4 aims:

  • Dharma – Righteousness, Moral Values
  • Artha – Prosperity
  • Kama – Pleasure
  • Moksha – Liberation.
